Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible for enrolling in BEAT-CF?

We are enrolling children, teenagers and adults with a confirmed diagnosis of Cystic Fibrosis in Australia. We will be approaching people at specific BEAT CF sites at CF clinics across Australia to discuss the study and see if they would like to enroll in the BEAT CF Platform.

When will my site start enrolling?

A list of current active sites can be found on our Our Team page. You can register your interest to be part of the study and when your site is actively enrolling, we will send you an email notification. You can also sign up to receive our BEAT CF e-newsletter to keep up to date with study matters including which sites are active and which sites are due to begin enrollment soon.

While we would like to involve most major CF clinics around Australia in the study, not all clinics will be able to participate as a site for BEAT CF. We will continually update our website to inform the CF community of which clinics will participate.

When will the clinical trial start?

The clinical trial that will evaluate different treatments for exacerbations will likely begin enrolling in mid 2021. At this stage, we are capturing data to ensure our BEAT CF Platform (digital infrastructure) is running efficiently. Only those individuals who have enrolled in the BEAT CF Platform will be invited to participate in the adaptive clinical trial. Please sign up to receive our BEAT CF e-newsletter to stay up to state with major announcements including when the clinical trial is ready to be rolled out to different sites.
